Most beginner classes put 6 to 12 year olds in the same room. This one doesn't. Built for older beginners only, this 5-day intensive gives 11 and 12 year olds five afternoons to go past the fundamentals and into the sport itself — everyone trains with someone their own age, their own size, and their own starting point.

Jiu-jitsu is the sport a generation of founders and executives picked up in their thirties. Your child gets to start at eleven.

(for complete beginners, ages 11–12 only)

Looking for our 3-day camp for ages 6–12? That one runs on games and fundamentals — this is the older kids' version: longer, smaller, and closer to the real sport.

Meet Your Coach↓

The course is led by Coach Gene, a jiu-jitsu practitioner and a certified Personal Trainer with a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology. His decade-long career has garnered him a client list that includes executives and C-suite-level clients.

As a kids' jiu-jitsu coach, he is passionate about helping children unlock both their learning and physical potential, with a learning environment that’s supportive, structured, and fun. With only 6 slots per cohort, every child is coached directly, every round.

What will your child learn?↓

Control Positions and Finish

Your child learns how to stay safe underneath a bigger opponent, escape to a better position, take the back, and apply a submission safely.

Jiu-jitsu focuses on securing dominant positions, applying joint locks, and using chokes to achieve submissions. The art encourages adaptability, allowing smaller individuals to overcome larger opponents through strategy, positioning, and technical execution. Every technique is introduced in the situation it came from, so your child always understands what it is for before they drill it.

Play the Sport

From day four, the gi goes on and your child trains jiu-jitsu the way it is actually practised and competed. They learn how a match begins, through takedowns and guard pulls, and the central problem of the sport: getting past a guard, and staying safe when someone is trying to get past theirs.

They also learn the scoring system, which turns a list of techniques into a game they can think their way through. The week closes with King of the Hill, where they put all of it together in live rounds.

Confidence & Discipline

Whether problem-solving in live drills, or adapting to unpredictable scenarios, students cultivate mental fortitude and emotional control.

In jiu-jitsu the feedback is immediate and honest. Either the escape worked or it didn't, and your child will know which. Confidence built this way is attached to something real, which is why it travels off the mats and into everything else.

how your child benefits

The art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu conditions practitioners to be disciplined, resilient, and team-spirited.

Character-Building

The sport of jiu-jitsu is a microcosm of human development. While being fun, the journey to competency instills valuable traits in both children and adults.

6 Pillars of Development

We believe that training should develop habits that help individuals thrive in life. Our 6 pillars are: self-defense, problem-solving, persistence, grit, curiosity & team spirit.

Five afternoons is a beginning. Everything in this course is designed to give your child enough real skill to know whether jiu-jitsu is theirs — and the benefits above compound the longer they train.
